WHO ARE WE? New Hope New Winner Foundation (NHNWF) believes that our children and youths are the new hopes and new winners of our society. To mould an exemplary healthy, stable and progressive nation, our society needs to invest in its youths and children, especially socially excluded children and youths in the streets and homes who suffer from psychological problems. NHNWF mobilizes resources from the public and institutions to support children and youths inherit and effectively manage massive wealth available in this country. WHAT DO WE DO? We challenge spoon feeding. Instead, NHNWF rescues children and youths from social risks in streets and homes and connects them to public and institution resources for primary education, vocational attachment and artistic skills. We facilitate and make re-unification and re-integration of children and youths into their families and communities more sensible by offering them something to do which is of their own liking and aspiration. Our counseling gives back children and youths confidence to life allowing them to opt for continued primary education instead of street life. Eventually primary education opens the gate for further education for children, especially those aged between 7 and 14 years. Sponsoring vocational attachment for youths above 18 years of age equips youths with basic labor skills such as carpentry, mechanic, masonry, welding, electrical engineering and other work skills that are necessary for self-reliance. NHNWF’s “Young Stars Support Service Centre’ (YSSSC) offers drop in counseling, education, mentoring and coaching services aimed at identifying talents and developing artistic and entertainment skills such as sports, painting, music, drawing, handicraft, dance, carving, molding, stage acting, photography, batik making, singing and other artistic skills which are used by children and youths to express their development views and concerns. Our media production services use children and youth arts to give children and youths space and voice for their rights. Exposure and access to media encourages their participation in promotion of wider issues including environmental conservation, good governance, responsible parenthood and related health and education concerns. HOW DO WE DO IT? Individuals, families, communities and local institutions and structures are the cornerstones of the NHNWF programs and projects. We initiate and facilitate public private partnership (PPP) approaches that commit the different and various capabilities and resources of the cornerstones to support the children and youths manage their destinies. . NHNWF’s advocacy work is carried out through focused information, communication and education campaigns and lobbying activities aimed at making the society more responsive to the welfare and development of children and youths. NHNWF believes that the best environment for a child and dependent youths is in a family. That is where we begin tracing children and youth families, communities and eventually local structures that with reasonable material, financial or in-kind support can be committed to offer best services for the children and youths.
