WHO DO WE BLAME? If Texas stole the land that makes Texas from Mexico, who did Mexico still it from? Why is it when anyone disagrees with the liberals, Mexicans, Blacks, Muslims, or other minorities, they are considered haters or racist? Im not a racist, and I simply dont have time to be a hater because of an individuals race, nationality, or political affiliation. I do however have an extreme lack of tolerance for ignorance and laziness. First let me clarify some facts. I am blonde, but blonde jokes dont bother me. I do not get mad when I am called a Gringo, even though it is a derogatory comparison used by Mexicans to describe Americans. I am a patriotic American who took an oath to defend my country against enemies both foreign and domestic. I believe a person should work for what they want, and not hold out their hand expecting a government handout. One more thing, I am a Republican because of my conservative constitutionalist beliefs; in fact, I am so conservative I make Rush Limbaugh look like a bleeding heart liberal. None of this makes me a racist, prejudice, or a hater; it makes me a realist. I am considered an educated man, but my beliefs, views, and opinions are based more on common sense than education. I am in no way a complicated person, just a simple everyday American who believes in fairness and justice in the old fashion sense. I believe that for every problem facing our great country, there are several solutions; most of which are simple, but will be unpopular because they will always require sacrifice for success. Most the letters I read here seem to be written by educated people. However, the ignorance is evident in what little research of fact is present; and, emotions seem to control what is written. Arguments, for the most part in these letters are baseless and without knowledgeable support. I, like most the readers, could give a rats behind about someones opinion; unless that opinion is supported by tangible and reliable facts. So educate me with your knowledge, and stop boring me with your ignorance and avoidance of whats real. Convince me with the facts concerning the issue. Show me you know what you are talking about; only then will your opinion be appreciated. If you cant do this, then put your pen down and tell it to the mirror, because the face you see there is the only one who cares about what you have to say. In closing, let me give you some food for thought. The next time you accuse someone of being a racist against Mexicans, reconsider your choice of words. Mexicans are not a race onto themselves. Mexicans are considered white and Mexican is a nationality. They are either an American of Mexican descent, a Mexican from Mexico, or possibly an immigrant from Mexico living here illegally or legally. The 12 million illegal immigrants are not all from Mexico. They come from all over the world, including Africa, countries in Europe, all South American countries, Asian countries, the middle east, and Cuba. If you truly believe that dumping 12 million immigrants in America will not affect our country, get ready for a rude awakening. History is a revolving door, and once we pass thru, it will be too late. America will fall from grace to a third world country within our remaining lifetime. The American Dream will die the day the Dream Amnesty is passed. And as for Texas, we did not steal Texas from Mexico. If you remember, The Mexican citizens of Texas fought Santa Anna and defeated him to win Texas Independence. In war, the spoils of war always go to the victor....lol....and in actuality, Sam Houston could have taken all of Mexico and called it the United States of Texas after he divided it up into manageable size states. And if there was an argument here, then who did Mexico steal the lands known as Texas from?...Spain?...France?...the American Indians?...hmmmm, good question. Also, let me add one other reason most Americans are against this huge influx of Mexicans to this country. All we have to judge them by is what we have learned from those who came before them. All nationalities who came here left their lives and countries behind. We dont celebrate the fall of the Berlin wall, but we have millions of Americans of German descent; and yet, the Mexicans celebrate Cinco De Mayo. The funny thing is 90 % of the Americans of Mexican descent dont even know what happened on May 5th that warrants a celebration....thats fact! DO you?....look it up before you answer and be advised that the date is a minor Holiday in Mexico. .Thuth be known, Cinco de Mayo was a holiday created by a beer distributor to increase their sales. Again I am not a hater, prejudice, or a racist; I just cant tolerate ignorance. If you want to be American.....do it 100% . You know what?......I think it is Sam Houstons fault......had he taken all of Mexico there would be no Mexico today...thus no problem!
