WHO IS THE GOLLIATH AND THE DAVID IN THE FORTHCOMING BENUE STATE GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION? Political dramas have for the past few months been thrilling the Benue inhabitants with juicy packages to dine on. Some actions were termed comical while others tragic. In the whole, both the APC and the PDP may be counting their losses as well as gains in the aftermath of the primaries. In this piece, I will be taking a glance at the notable gains APC may hv amassed and is queued to amass in the face of the turbulent political weather carressing the rough edges of the PDP family at the moment. PDP held its primaries on the 8th of Dec, 2014 amidst many issues. Top on the list was the choice of suswam n Tor Tiv which favoured Hon Tartzoor who was seen a minor as such not fit to lead the state at the moment. Many if not all the aspirants expressed their dissatisfaction with the decision of the Tor Tiv and Ter Benue governor Suswam. Let me not bore you with the recycled facts. What am trying to say in essence is that almost all the aspirtants who bought normination forms were aggrieved. Some pulled out of the election especially the ones frm Masev axis for the perceived injustice they saw. I strongly believe that even if they remain in the PDP fold, all their supporters will vote for APC. May be, the Ayargwer/Achado saga will repeat itself. Check Lawani, Aondokaa and other aspirants comments n body language and you will believe me. Ortoms defection may be seen as an individual decision from some quarters bt to me, it is a decision of the aggrieved PDP family who are willing to team up wt him directly or indirectly to stunt the success of Tarzoor and his masterminders. Politics they say is a game of number, if that is true then, I see power drastically changing hands frm PDP to APC but if this belief only exist on paper, i will nt be surprised to see a transition frm PDP to same PDP. Ortom is very popular with the people especially the masses. He commanded the most followership in the PDP and it is believed that all his PDP faithfuls are changing political status in order to help him actualize his mega political ambition. Some people are supporting him and the APC becouse they see it as the only alternative hope since the captain of the PDP ship is seen to be too inexperienced and unacceptable by the Benue people. Politically, age and experience wise as well as acceptability, Ortom stands giant as Golliath stood while Tarzoor remains the David with his fainty, scanty and nannious profile and experiece. In terms of political platform as well as power and affluence, Tarzoor stands gigantic like Golliath since Tor Tiv and Tor Benue are still nurturing him while Ortom is the Golliath. Who do you choose as your David frnds? Where do I belong? Nowhere at the moment but I hate injustice. At the appropriate time, my family and i wil decide on who to go with. For now....am still gauging my political reservoir to see where the future lies. God bless Benue people
