WHY MIKE KELSEY IS RUNNING FOR STATE ASSEMBLY? Too many in government are focused on special interest and personal agendas. Government has become too large, too burdensome, and too intrusive. Theory and common sense appear absent from the legislative process. I’m willing to put up with the stresses, headaches and frustrations that come with elected office because I believe that government doesn’t have to operate like this. I believe that our Founders set up a government with the belief that it could function to serve the common good, while respecting individual liberty. I believe that laws and services should empower individuals, families, and businesses, not dilute their freedoms and opportunities. I’m willing to serve because government has forgotten its basic premise that it exists for the sake of its citizens. I’m willing to remind it of such, and serve as a voice for the people.
