WHY NOT LET GOD DO IT HIS WAY? Along with their other - TopicsExpress

WHY NOT LET GOD DO IT HIS WAY? Along with their other “winsome” traits, our current crop of “church fixers” just can’t leave “perfect” alone, and go about adjusting God’s instructions to fit special circumstances. We have seen an abundance of actual changing of the wording of Scripture to force a special meaning of it..but often it is a blatant disagreement between these men and God…Nowhere is this more evident that in the realm of how to react to one another when a doctrine or practice is at issue. The thing to remember is we are NOT smarter than God; we can’t SAY things better than God, and His ways will always be BETTER than ours. And, His way begins and ends with teaching and applying scripture – ALL scripture – to a given circumstance.. He tells us: “My word will not return to me void…it will accomplish the purpose whereunto I sent it..” Isa 55:10,11. This will be true whether or not we accept it – either way, it will do its work. Obeying it will bring about one result..disobeying – another…in either case, the word will “not return void..” He says for us to “deliver some unto Satan, for the destruction of the flesh” (this is true of both moral-1 Cor 5, and doctrinal – 1 Tim 1:20, errors). This is a tangible, perceptible process which will result in actual consequences, and it is what His word dictates… But some come along and question its “wisdom”, because some might “never come back”, if they are so treated; or “the church will be seen as a hotbed of warring sects”, if we become TOO radical in our approach to innovations, etc. I say, LET GOD DO IT HIS WAY! He says, “withdraw…from the disorderly” 1 cor 5, 2 th 3..What happens next is NOT my concern…it is what is SUPPOSED to happen, since it is following the word that brought it about. Part of the reason the brotherhood is morally and doctrinally “looser” is that we have NOT done it his way in many places. He says, “mark them which cause division…and avoid them”…the impression that leaves, and the consequences to churches, are NOT our concern…it is what is SUPPOSED to happen, since it is following God’s word that brings it about…In most places God ways have not been “tried and found wanting, but been found hard and not tried” – from an author I don’t just now remember.
