WHY THE EDO MASS DECAMPING FROM APC TO PDP IS DIFFERENT FROM THE NORM. I must admit that in nigeria, it is usually the malcontents and the used and dumped politicians that decamp from one party to another. Add the politically irrelevant and food is ready ones to the list. But can one really say that these are the elements decamping in edo state? Even a cursory look at the DECAMPEES will reveal otherwise for some obvious reasons: (1) The most politically relevant politicians in APC beside the Governor are Pastor Ize Iyamu ( Establisher of ACN/APC in Edo) the two term Senator Ehigie Uzamere, former APC Chairman-Omoaghe,Edo North APC leader and State Vice-Chairman- Usman Shagadi, Former ANPP guber Candidate in the last elections-Solomon Edebiri, Chief Sunny Uyigue the Sardauna of Edo South PoliticsI, Chief Ekeinde the altalknado of Owan west, Chief Patrick Imonikhe the most experienced politician in Emailand. If you say that these men are politically irrelevant, then you dont know what is politics. (2) To the accusation that they are belle-first politicians. I say again that it is wrong to tag them so. 14 SSAs, many board chairmen and members, serving executive directors, local council chairmen,serving Senator do not fit my description of hungry men or malcontent but of patriots who saw something very wrong in an existing system. (3) We have seen what these noble decampees saw before now. Oh, dont tell me you forgot so quickly the Black-Market property tax law that was passed in the night. The Go and Die vituperation uttered by a megalomania. The Guiness book of record sure candidate for rigging ( the edo local council elections), the lawlessness of a chief executive and his close associates. The arming and empowerment of cultists. The tradition of insulting highly placed Edo elders and so on and so forth. (4) The now obvious but deliberately being hushed APC association with Boko haram and the wholesale campaign of blackmail and calumny against President Jonathan who hails from Otueke-Ogbia, an Edo community in Bayelsa State. So you see, there are enough reasons for a sane man to leave APC.
