WHY WILL THEY NOT WEEP? I bemoan the state of affairs of mother Ghana. Its very disheartening to note that we have depleted the national kitty to the bone but we intend to take some colossal sum of American Dollars as expenses for the countrys participations in the world cup. Meanwhile, countries such as the U.S, England, Germany (with the potential of winning the trophy), etc have budgeted far less for the same tourney. We will as a nation, sit unconcerned for the Ministry of Youth and Sport budgeted 2014 World Cup participation cost to be bulldozed through parliament and come back empty-handed and go back looking for loans from these same countries we participate with. Parliament should as a matter of urgency investigate and conduct a forensic scrutiny of the budget and should vehemently bemock the Ministers continual involvement in the affairs of the GFA and Black Stars issues. Theres is more to be done at the ministry than following the Black Stars. What is with African leaders and football? Overtime, the typical African leader has overly developed the penchant for using football as a lulling effect on its people, to tranquillize the mind from looking into policies and standing up for what is right. They know that civil society organizations can put out papers and challenge Government policy directions, they can and will shout, rave and rant but will not have any effect. Serial callers (their bonus will be being jetted and cared for during the tournament for the period for which the national team will be in the competition at the expense of some national projects), will do damage to well researched presentations while the sharp-teeth-babe control the situation by preaching equalisation and apportion blame! Another instance that befuddles my mind is the qualification bonus and match bonuses that is going to be paid to the players (always paid and to be paid in dollars?). Playing for the national team should be a patriotic duty, but it looks like the GFA and the players are acting as if some mercenaries have been hired from some far, far away land to defend the national flag. Playing for the national team serves as a launching pad for new talents to be noticed and a fertile grounds to re-launch their flagging careers. English players are made to commit a percent of their bonus to a charity of their choice! What happens to the money paid our Mercenary Stars? A portion goes to agents and management committee members and the rest is pocketed task-free! Are we serious as a nation with the quest to develop? Somebody help me to come to terms with our national priorities... WE NEED SOCIAL JUSTICE AND PATRIOTISM! A GIVE AND TAKE AFFAIR!!
