WINNING EACH DAY DEVOTIONAL 2 Cor 2:14 “And thanks be to God who always causes us to triumph…” January 23, 2015 COMPLETE PACKAGE Psalm 103:5 AMP Who satisfies your mouth [your necessity and desire at your personal age and situation] with good so that your youth, renewed, is like the eagle’s [strong, overcoming, soaring]! Psalm 103:1-5 describes how good our God is. He is a saviour, a deliverer, a protector, a provider. In verse 2, the Psalmist reminds himself not to forget His good deeds. A lifestyle of thanksgiving starts with choosing to praise God deliberately. In verses 3 through 5, he mentions some of these good deeds. Notice that the good deeds of God start with forgiveness of sin but do not stop there. The believer enjoys forgiveness, healing, redemption, promotion and also provision. The grace that saved you healed you. Your healing is in the past tense! In Isa 53:5, Isaiah prophesies about the coming Messiah: “And by His stripes we are healed.” It’s OK that he uses the present tense of the verb “are”- Jesus hadn’t come. After the crucifixion and resurrection, Apostle Peter declares: “by whose stripes you WERE healed.” (1 Pet 2:24) It’s already done! The grace that saved you provides for you. “Who SATISFIES your mouth” means He constantly does this. He does not simply want to feed you- He wants you satisfied! The Greek word for salvation is “sozo”, which means “to deliver out of danger and into safety; to rescue from the penalty and power of sin – and into His provisions (safety)”. Salvation is a complete package that gives you victory on earth and the blessed assurance of entering heaven. CONFESSION: “…all that is within me, bless His holy name!” (Psa 103:1) My organs can’t malfunction because all that is within me blesses His holy name! PRAYER: I enter the full manifestation of everything Jesus died for me to have! (Rev 5:13) FURTHER READING: Psa 90:14, 1 Pet 2:9.
