WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FOR THE SOUTHERN OREGON CASCADES AND THE SISKIYOUS FROM 10 AM THIS MORNING, THROUGH 10 AM SUNDAY MORNING. The National Weather Service office in Medford, Oregon has issued the winter weather advisory in the above due to expected snowfalls that could impact travel. Snow is expected to begin late this morning around Crater Lake and Diamond Lake, and then work south into the Siskiyous by late this afternoon. Significant impacts on holiday travel is expected in the Cascades from Highway 140 north, with travel impacts possible for Highway 66 and Interstate 5 in the Siskiyous. Snowfall amounts of up to 8 inches are expected at pass levels in the Cascades, with a couple of inches of snow possible for I 5 in the Siskiyous. Crater Lake National Park could see up to 10 inches of accumulation, and the Mt. Ashland Ski Area looks to see 2 - 5 inches.
