WISDOM, KNOWLEDGE, AND UNDERSTANDING…. WHAT IS IT? Job 28:28 And unto man he said, “Behold, THE FEAR OF THE LORD, that is wisdom; and to DEPART FROM EVIL is understanding.” What is WISDOM? ----- FEAR OF THE LORD What is UNDERSTANDING ----- DEPARTING FROM EVIL/SIN What is KNOWLEDGE ------ KNOWING GOOD VS. EVIL Job 28:12 But where shall wisdom be found? and where is the place of understanding? Proverbs 3:19 The LORD by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens. 1. Where shall wisdom be found?---In the earth (FEARING OF THE LORD) 2. Where is the place of understanding?---In the Heavens (DEPARTING FROM EVIL/SIN!) DEPARTING FROM EVIL FIRST BEGINS IN YOUR ***MIND***! THE LORD PROMISES US HE’LL DELIVER US FROM ALL EVIL AND LEAD US OUT OF ALL TEMPTATION IF WE CALL ON AND CRY OUT TO HIM. WHO GIVES US WISDOM, KNOWLEDGE, AND UNDERSTANDING? THE LORD SPEAKING: Exodus 31:3 “And I have filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom (FEAR OF THE LORD), and in understanding (DEPARTING FROM EVIL/SIN), and in knowledge (KNOWING THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN GOOD AND EVIL), and in all manner of workmanship.” Psalms 111:10 The FEAR OF THE LORD is the beginning of WISDOM: a good understanding (DEPARTING FROM EVIL/SIN) have all they that DO his commandments: his praise (OR GRACE/GOD’S FAVOR) endureth for ever. Proverbs 1:7 The FEAR OF THE LORD is the beginning of KNOWLEDGE: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. Jeremiah 51:15 He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom (WE IN THE WORLD MUST FEAR OUR FATHER AND HIS WRATH IF WE CHOSE TO DISOBEY HIM), and hath stretched out the heaven by his understanding (TO BE IN HEAVEN WE MUST DEPART FROM EVIL/SIN 100% BY THE POWER OF HIS HOLY SPIRIT IN US). DANIEL SPEAKING ABOUT GOD: And He changeth the times and the seasons: He removeth kings, and setteth up kings: He giveth wisdom (FEAR) unto the wise, and knowledge (KNOWING GOOD VS. EVIL) to them that know understanding (DEPARTING FROM EVIL/SIN): Proverbs 4:4-5 He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: KEEP my commandments, and LIVE. Get wisdom (FEAR OF THE LORD), get understanding (DEPART FROM EVIL/SIN): forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth. Proverbs 8:5 O ye simple, understand wisdom (FEAR THE LORD): and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding (WITHOUT EVIL/SIN) heart. Colossians 1:9 For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge (KNOWING GOOD FROM EVIL) of His will in all wisdom (FEARING THE LORD) and spiritual understanding (DEPARTING FROM EVIL/SIN); Revelation 13:18 Here is wisdom (FEARING THE LORD). Let him that hath understanding (HE WHO DEPARTED FROM EVIL/SIN) count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.
