WITHOUT GOING INTO DETAIL, Shelbie and I now have contributed a lot of money to the Nigerian Economy. I dont think i want to go there to visit or retire........ A well-planned and orchestrated SCAM through Craigslist. Thanks to the Plano police for their follow through, and thanks to Western Union for going back through their Video tapes, and thanks to the City Detectives in Naples FL, we got the scoop. The guy who picked up the money is in jail....But not because he got OUR money but for public intoxication. He was identified by the Western Union Fraud folks by going through their Tapes since i had the exact date and time the money was picked up. It gave the authorities the opportunity to interview him about the transaction. Heres how it worked. He was a homeless guy who hitchhiked to FL from Washington State. Someone offered him $50 if he would go pick up money from Western Union, then wire it to someone else in Nigeria. He accepted the job. The FL police know who hired him and will apprehend him. The detective told me recently there was a young lady, who had lost her job, and she accepted a position advertised on Craigslist. All she had to do was go to Western Union, pickup money, and then wire it to another location, and she could keep X dollars from each transaction. The officer told me she was sometimes going through $8k to $10k a day, most of it from people buying stuff sight unseen from craigslist (Lexus / BMWs advertised at ridiculous prices) and using Western Union to pay for them. He didnt arrest her because she actually thought it was a legitimate businessman conducting interstate business. You cannot believe how perfected the Paypal Page was that i was sent. It was better than counterfeit money, Unreal. I called Paypal and asked for confirmation of my balance, and waa laa...it was ZERO. LOL. A DAVID COPPERFIELD type vanishing act made it disappear. It is of little comfort to know that i am among thousands of people this happens to every week across the nation. IT IS A GREAT COMFORT TO KNOW THAT WHEN I FILED THE POLICE REPORT, AND THE WESTERN UNION FRAUD DEPARTMENT, IT WAS LESS THAN 3 WEEKS COMING TO A CONCLUSION. thanks guys. Signed / I WONT DO IT AGAIN.
