WORD FOR TODAY- ANOINTING 5 We had a great weekend by grace we witnessed the anointing of God at work as Hundreds of young people gave their lives to Jesus to be their Lord and savior. We had a chance to minister together with my Team NPN and my covenant brother Mr.TEE and more than 600 young men and women gave their lives to Jesus glory to Him who died for their sins. I wish to pick it up from where we left last week, I was teaching by grace that your prophet is not a superhuman and the devil is after him as he is after you but at the same time They are special vessels of God chosen irrespective of their weaknesses. The bible says that it is God who takes vessels of clay and makes them vessels of noble use, this are men that God has chosen and tested and found them able to dispense the assignment he has anointed them for and so it’s only wise for us to honour those that God has honored. I promised to do a deep study of all the components of the anointing oil that the LEVITES were anointed with 1. MYRRH- Myrrh comes from an Arabic word “murr” meaning “bitter”; it is also a sweet smelling substance that is mostly found in Arabia and Somalia. It has a very sweet and strong fragrance but very bitter to the tongue. It is said to have medicinal value and it’s been discovered to kill prostate and breast cancer cells. The Egyptians applied it on their heads when walking in the desert to prevent sun burns and also on their skins to remove wrinkles. It’s warm and woody aroma is uplifting and it helps the emotional part of the brain and its also a stimulant to some glands to release some juices that are very important in human body. It is also a very valuable substance and rare as you can remember well it was also presented to baby Jesus by the wise men at his birth together with gold it’s used by the rich and classy. So what was its significant to the anointing oil that was to be used on the Prophets? As we have read it has a very strong scent, and the bible says that we are the light of the world that cannot be put under a bowl, we are like a city built on a hill that cannot be hidden. When one is wearing a strong cologne, people just feel it and they love it, it’s refreshing, when people see the anointed servants of God they feel the scent of their works and many admire them but as much as it has a sweet aroma, it is VERY BITTER TO THE TONGUE of the person tasting it. So many times people just want to talk about the great sermons and the blessings and the car the man of God is driving, criticize the house they live but no one knows what they have gone through to be where they are. I can tell you before they get where they are they have gone through a very thorough and bitter tasting patch of their lives for them to be trusted with the sweet aroma that attracts people to them. People are famous for talking about the aroma but no one knows the bitterness in the tongue for one to produce the sweet smell. I WIND UP BY SAYING YOU MAY LOVE OR CRITICIZE THE SCENT OF THE ANOINTED BUT YOU HAVE NO CLUE OF THE BITTERNESS THEY HAVE TO ENDURE, DON’T JUST SEE THE SUIT, THE CAR, THE HOUSE ETC IT’S NOT EASY TO BE A SERVANT OF GOD, IT HAS A TASTE OF ITS BITTERNESS AND PAIN.
