WORLD OLYMPICS MARATHON 2013 THE EAST AFRICAN ROUND UP OF WORLD OLYMPICS A VERY FIERCE COMPETION INDEED BY TUSHABE MICHAEL SABIITI Dozens of TEAMS AND MILLIONS OF CONTESTANTS will vie for the world Olympics marathon race covering over 2500sq km. The starting point will be SERENGETI INTERNATIONAL STADIUM. With LIONS, CHEETAHS and CROCODILES acting as life savers, the punishment for losing the race will be very serious; you are served as lunch. The beginning of July marked the annual F.I.M.A 2013 Wildebeest/ Gazelles/Antelopes World Olympics Marathon starting from SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK through MAASAI MARA and finishing in SERENGETI CONSERVATION AREA (NGORONGORO CRATER). The governing body F.I.M.A (International Federation of Migratory Animals) has prepared well enough for this annual event, having been doing this for months. An F.I.M.A spokesman, HYENA, anticipates this year’s marathon to be opened by the best teams. Teams of over 2 million Wildebeests are expected to compete, over 500,000 Zebras, large teams of Thomson Gazelles, and a million participants of Antelopes. This is the planet’s largest Migratory world Olympics event, and an event not to be missed. The preliminaries have been ongoing in the Tanzania’s spectacular National park (SERENGETI) with the teams training hard on the diminishing grass. Teams will be picked after the end of month calving season and after many transfers of Wildebeests to the team of Lions, Cheetah, Hyenas, Jackals, Leopards, and wild dog teams which have already been made. These annual transfers of young and old players of wildebeests are not, however, expected to weaken this large fit team. The advantage with this team is the solidarity of team spirit in supporting this sport and the expected results. Many of these predatory teams(Lions,Cheetah,Leopards, Crodcodiles) have been seen increasing their team sizes, planning to bloody some new players this season. This has been an ongoing secret to take the other teams unaware to be able to inflict heavy casualty on them. When you look at their faces, all you see is the preparedness to shade blood in this MARATHON. The lazy ones (Hippos) have feared this tight and bloody marathon and have chosen to keep in their field as they wait as spectators. They feel the other teams had more time to train than them. Sometimes laziness is good but a big disadvantage to the lazy one because you never find out where your strength lies. Keeping to their field is not itself enough to save them from losing the competition. When fighting for territorial dominance, they still find it bloody. The expected rains, longer green pastures are expected to make this marathon an amazing spectacle for those funs lucky enough to attend. I’m (Michael) already on the ground to give fare judgment. An official game supplier is making an effort to fill the stadia this season by offering discounted packages. The final climax is October with stadiums across the Mara River and Maasai Mara plains will be attended by many funs and supporters. The strong crocodile team, which has a permanent position in the finals, due to the fact that it owns the stadiums at Grumeti and Mara Rivers, is expected to put in a good show this year- but are not expected to win from the strong wildebeest and zebra teams at any time in the future. These Wildebeests’ secret of not being won is in their capacity to win the calving season each time the Marathon is going to take place. No other team that has ever won the multiplication equation than these innocent beasts. At the Mara River, everyone is eagerly waiting for this marathon since it is the crossing point into Maasai Mara National game reserve. A lot of activity is taking place; as film crews were going around mounting their cameras, they captured this HIPPO clearing the river to avoid accidents of the weak getting hurt in the water to avoid excuses of losing the race; not to be like Ugandans who complained about getting their kits late and tired already. This event, as in all years, has no clear winner and the marathon is expected to be so tight, hard-fought affairs – sometimes bloody.
