In fact, when Israel went to war, God commanded them to position the worshippers on the front lines to physically lead the people into battle. True worship not only prepares you for spiritual battle, it also plays a strategic part in God’s battle plan. Worship shifts your focus from the problems of life and the attacks of the enemy, and it refocuses your eyes upon God who is the solution to all your problems. King David, the warrior king of Israel, understood the key role of worship. In Psalm 34:3 (NKJV), he said, “O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together” (emphasis added). Then David went on to describe the benefits of doing this saying they’re delivered from fear, they’re saved from all their troubles, and they will never want for any good thing.
