WORSHIP SONG for SATURDAY - People hope in all sorts of things....other people, places, things, money, abilities, intuition, religion, ethnicity, education, knowledge, relationships and this list could go on.....and on....and on. These are not necessarily bad things or things in which we should find no hope but we all know that eventually people, places and things will fail us and our hopes will be dashed! There is an ultimate HOPE that will never let us down, an ultimate HOPE that is always there, strong and able to provide everything we need and its the HOPE that we all long for. Of course, its HOPE in God that Im speaking of. HOPE is only as good as that which we place it in and HOPE in God is as good as God Himself is. The writer of the New Testament Book called Hebrews put it this way...God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the HOPE that lies before us. This HOPE is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls! Today, even if all other hope is gone, HOPE in God and you will find that this HOPE is actually the only one you really need!
