WORSHIP SONG for THURSDAY - There are so many characters involved in the story of the first Christmas - some major like Mary, Joseph, Zecharias, Elizabeth and of course JESUS and some minor like the Wise Men, the Shepherds and Herod. There are others among which one who is never really mentioned except in passing, namely the owner of the Inn that had no room for Jesus. We dont know his name but we know something about him - hes known for turning away Joseph and Mary on that silent night so long ago. Maybe there really wasnt any room in his house, maybe all the rooms were taken, but to turn away a young couple in such obvious need seems a little hard. Can you imagine the pleading of Joseph as he explained to the Inn Keeper his wifes condition. Sir, my wife Mary will be delivering our son, tonight...look at her! Is there really no room for us? And can you imagine the expression on Marys face, expectation, pain, cold, uncomfortable....great with child as the Word says. But still the Inn Keeper said, Sorry, no room! If he only knew Who he had turned away, he probably would have given up his own bed! He thought, its just a poor couple! Its just another baby! If he only knew Who that Baby was, he would have bowed in worship and welcomed Him into his home gladly. He goes down in history as having no room for the Savior on the first night of His life on earth...if he only knew. How about you? Do you have room for Jesus this Christmas? Is your Christmas all filled up with decorations, presents, food, fun and family gatherings? Maybe religion just isnt your thing and who even knows if this Bible stuff about Christmas is really true! You might want to consider the possibility that it is true and that HE is Who HE said HE is and Who HIS Followers believe HIM to be! He was more than just a Baby on that first Christmas and He was more than a man when HE walked on the earth! He came as God in the flesh, the Savior of the world, the King of all kings and LORD of all lords! The Inn Keepers night would have been drastically different if he had found room for Jesus. Shepherds would have showed up at his house, the angels might have landed on his roof and the face of the BABY would have filled the Inn with the glory of God! This Inn Keeper missed out what would have been the greatest night of his life! Dont be like the Inn Keeper, find room for HIM, you will be forever changed and the glory of the LORD will light your world always!
