WORSHIP SONG for TUESDAY - Even as Followers of Jesus, forgiven and redeemed by a Holy and Righteous God, we at times let people, places and things get under our skins. We get up on our little soapbox, raise up our voices in self generated indignation and rant, vent and complain about everything and anything. Honestly it does no one, including us, any good whatsoever. We become just another voice of dis-satisfaction without a message of hope. I think its clear that we have a heart problem, that is, a spiritual heart problem. And its not that our hearts are broken and need to be fixed, its that they are prideful and need to be broken. Instead of looking at a lost world and lost sinners with a heart of pride we need to see them through the eyes of a broken heart, a heart like Gods. His heart had every right to be offended, to be righteously indignant and to speak a message of condemnation but his main message was in a sense, Come to Me and I will give you a heart like mine. A heart that breaks over sin, breaks over those that reject Me and breaks over those that destroy themselves because they wont turn to Me. In order for us to reach those that need it with the Gospel, we need a heart like Gods, one that breaks and offers hope not condemnation. One that breaks and offers salvation and one that breaks and offers restoration. Of course the needed faith must rise up in the heart of the lost soul but our hearts need to be like the Fathers.....broken over sin, broken over those that reject God and broken over our own lack of faith, which might hurt the Father more than anything.
