WOW MAN my fungus friends have been CRANKING lately, big interviews all over the straight press in Taiwan and throughout Asia-even the China Times??- the story of two brothers teaching kids and cranking out this freak zine for life is spreading like wildfire, something that is a real trip to comprehend-esp stateside where often artists are treated like criminals as nate young put it not too long back. A big part of the practice has been putting on events to showcase some of the incredible people that swing through town, highlight some of taiwans own mindmelting talent in the crew, and generally create another world where a spirit of difference thrives- and DEPOP V looks to be huge. All the noise about the project will be drawing in some new faces, and although Im not familiar with all the acts I know for a fact minds are going to be blown! Especially with Fujui, Dawang, and JaJa in the mix- performers of a caliber rarely seen anywhere in the world i can truly attest. Anyways we wanna blow this thing up- attend in spirit if other options dont present themselves, thats what im up to 100%. Im commited to the beautiful struggle here in the Midwaste for the time being, but i sure as hell would hop the pond for this banger
