WOW! The Downtown Optimist Club holds a 50/50 every meeting to raise money for our projects. Tickets are sold and the holder of the winning ticket from that meeting chooses from a pack of cards face down on a table. If the lucky person picks a Joker, he/she wins half the cash. No winner, it holds over till next meeting. Tonights jackpot was $932 to the winner. A ticket number was called and no one claimed it. I looked through my tickets and, at first, didnt notice that I won the chance for the evening. Then I raised my hand and walked up to the 15 cards spread out. I hemmed & hawed, as I never win anything, and finally closed my eyes and picked. At first I didnt realize that Id chosen the JOKER, then it hit me. I won! Unbelievable! After the shock wore off I announced that I was going to give 1/2 of it to my friend Callista because we each put in $5 for the tickets, then split them. I just happened to get that half, so I shared! Now, DONT TELL THE IRS or ask for a loan!
