WRONG DOORS By: Bobby Quitain F14 and F15. Great seats. Just in front of the screen. Not too close yet not too far. Simply perfect. Jeng and I settled into our seats with excitement as we await the start of the movie. Liam Neeson is our type of actor. Good acting. Good projects. Good values. Surely, this Walk Among the Tombstones is going to be fun. Then the movie started. Flashed onscreen were the names of the actors and actresses starring in the film. Iza Calzado. Zanjoe Marudo. Jodi Sta. Maria. I looked again with disbelief. Then came the title, Maria Leonora Teresa. Jumping from my seat, I told Jeng to wait for me as I rushed outside the movie theater. Looking left, I saw the cinema featuring Walk Among the Tombstones. Yikes! Just then I realized that we entered the wrong cinema door! Quickly but discreetly, I directed Jeng to the exit. Phew! We made it in time for the start of the Liam Neeson film. Praise God! Unfortunately, in life, we enter wrong doors too! And unlike in our theater experience, you enter some wrong doors you cannot exit from. Bad marriages. Bad jobs. Bad businesses. Bad habits. And sometimes, all you can do is stay on your chair and grit your teeth. Its a good thing, though, that Christ has a different promise: I have come that you may have life and have it to the full! (John 10:10) And in my ministry, I have seen this promise get fulfilled before my very eyes. Ive seen marriages getting saved, businesses turning around, job opportunities opening and bad habits getting kicked out of a persons life forever. Ive entered some wrong doors in my life too, my friend. But there is one door I entered that I never regretted. Jesus said, I am the door of the sheep... (John 10:7) And this is one Door I hope to lead others into for the rest of my life. Check it out!
