WSSC junior athlete Evan completing mobility/flexibility work before his speed based session! (Spider, hip flexor, hamstring) Its important that athletes complete mobility/flexibility work for joint integrity but also to decrease tightness and allow the muscle to perform optimally = athletic performance/injury prevention. Im WSSC opinion not enough athletes complete mobility/flexibility work in their physical preparation programs leading to tightness and lack of range of motion. A holistic program is the key to total athletic development and long term performance (lay the foundations of strength, flexibility, mobility, stability).
