WW1. Surrey Remembers. Original Print Edition. Commissioned by APS (Arts Partnership Surrey) Ochre Print Studios have been invited to produce four original screen print editions to commemorate the 100 year anniversary of the Great War. In response Ochre Print Studios now invites artists to submit a design, using no more than 3 colours to be screen printed in an edition of 40 prints. All designs are to be 30 x 40 cm in size (portrait orientation) and will be screen-printed at Ochre Print Studio. The deadline for submissions is 3 November 2014 Four designs will be selected by a panel of judges from the entries submitted and each artist will receive a fee of £400. Artists don’t necessarily need to have any previous print making experience and winners will have the opportunity of learning to screen print at Ochre, Surrey’s largest open access screen printing facility. Subject Matter: We would like the commissioned artists to consider the impact and legacy of WW1 on Surrey communities and families rather than focussing too much on the military conflict itself.
