WWE Can’t Stop Shooting Itself In The Foot Hello Shield Army, - TopicsExpress

WWE Can’t Stop Shooting Itself In The Foot Hello Shield Army, Today I’m Writing To You With Confusion & Anger In The Wrestling Part Of My Heart. Like Most Of You I Was Glued To My TV For The Final RAW Before SummerSlam, & It Started To Look Like The 4th Wall Was Being Knocked Completely Down Into Dust By Bryan & Cena’s Verbal Assault On One Another. Don’t Get Me Wrong I’m Sure Some Of The Back & Forth Was Discussed Before The Show, But Something About It Started To Feel Real Real, Real Quick. I Honestly Believe That The Barrage Of Fan Hate & You Can’t Wrestle Chants Have Crept Under John Cena’s Skin. Not Just The Entertainer, The Man. He Actually Said 5 Moves Of Doom, The Nickname That Cena Haters Have Given His Limited Move Set. He Seems To Be Taking All That Pent Up Aggression About Being Told How He Doesn’t Belong Out On Daniel Bryan. And I Have To Say, It Makes The Man Seem Less Corny, & More Intense. This Rivalry With Daniel Bryan May Not Last Long, & It Will Not Result In A Massive Character Change For Cena, Or Even That Much Anticipated Heel Turn (Which Isn’t Happening Guys), But It Has Brought Something Out Of Cena. No Doubt About That. Maybe Vince Was Shooting On Cena. Maybe He Does Feel Like He Owns The Place. It’s Easy To See How That Attitude Could Develop. Maybe Daniel Bryan Is Right. He Has Gotten Comfortable Knowing He Will Be In Countless Main Events, Always Get A Title Shot, & Be The Face Regardless Of Skill Or Fan Interest. But These Are All Things That No One Has Talked About On Camera Before. These Were The Complaints Of The Internet World, & The Portions Of The Live Crowds That Have Always Let Their Cena Hate Flow. Watch ECW One Night Stand – RVD vs Cena – That Crowd Wanted Blood. In 2006. Now The Number One Contender & The Man Who Will Most Likely Beat SuperCena For His Belt Is Saying These Things, On Camera, To The Man’s Face. John Cena Is Many Things, & Proud Is One Of Them. The Elephant In The Room Is Finally Being Discussed. He’s Not A Wrestler. And It’s Driving Him Crazy. So Why Am I So Mad? Why Does A Strong John Cena Critic Such As Myself Feel Unsatisfied After He Was Called Out On RAW, Knowing He Will Probably Be Dropping The Title In A Matter Of Days? I’ll Tell You Why. For The Millionth Time Since Attitude/Ruthless Aggression, WWE Has Shot Themselves In The Foot, Can’t Get Out Of Their Own Way, & Is Fixing Something That Isn’t Broken. Daniel Bryan vs John Cena Has Gotten Personal, Intense, & Can’t Miss. There Will Be A Big Fight Feel In LA For SummerSlam’s Main Event, & Randy Orton Is Looming, Ready To Strike. This Thing Has Practically Written & Hyped Itself. It’s The Most Anticipated Title Match Since Punk/Cena 2011. And Now We Have A Special Guest Referee. Triple H. For No Reason. And It’s The Wrong Move. Way Wrong. WWE Has Been Wasting Potential, Talent, & Storylines For 5+ Years Now. Nexus Was The Most Refreshing & Exciting Idea In Years. They Lost Their First Huge Match To Team WWE, & Fizzled Out. Dolph Ziggler Has Continued To Prove He Is Big Time, Main Event, Championship Good. And Has Continued To Be Given Pennies Instead Of Dollars By World Wrestling Entertainment When It Comes To Titles & Attention. They Have Ruined Any Chance Of Ryback Being Taken Seriously, Heel Or Face. The Shield Is Just Now Starting To Rebuild Momentum, But A Group Of 3 Exciting Young Stars That Was Once The Highlight Of Every Show, Have Felt Lost, Directionless, & Under Used. The WWE Has A Habit Of Ruining A Good Thing Just As It’s Starting To Get Great. I Fear Referee Hunter Is The Next Example. I’m Not Sure The Origins Of This Decision. Did The WWE Creative Team Believe That This Will Only Add More Anticipation To A Match That The World Is Talking About? It Won’t. Is Triple H’s Ego Still So Big That He Needs To Be In The Spotlight Of SummerSlam In Some Capacity? Maybe. But Damn That’s The Wrong Reason. Is Hunter Going To Be A Factor & Play A Part In The Decision To The Match? That’s What Scares Me. Let Me Say This. As Big A Bryan Supporter As I Am, I Truly Expect Randy Orton To Walk Out Of SummerSlam WWE Champion. Period. But, I’m Still Mad. If Triple Decides That John Cena Is ‘His Guy’ Or Something Ridiculous And Screws Daniel Bryan Out Of The WWE Title, Then It Is Months & Months Of Wasted Emotion, Momentum, & Time. Fans Will Be Pissed, Deflated, & Unable To Believe That WWE Is Ready To Step Away From Their Old Habits. It Will Be The Worst Move Possible, And The Least Likely. But The Fact We Even Need To Talk About The Possibility Is Unacceptable At This Stage Of The Rivalry. What If Triple H Screws Cena? Daniel Bryan Finally Wins The WWE Title But It Is Shrouded In A Cloud Of Dispute. If Hunter Purposefully Costs Cena The Belt, Even If It’s Some Huge Heel Turn For Him & Bryan, It Will Tarnish That Victory So Much, It Would Be Worse Than Bryan Losing. It Would Send A Message That SuperCena Still Exists, And That He Is Truly Unbeatable In A Clean Match. It Will Not Prove That Daniel Bryan Is The Best Wrestler In The World, & The Best Wrestler Should Be Champion, It Shows He Needed Help To Beat An Entertainer In A Wrestling Match. Make No Mistake About It. Even If Triple H ‘Accidentally’ Costs Cena The Title, It Will Make Bryans Victory Meaningless In The Big Picture. WWE Can’t Move Forward With SuperCena, & If Bryan Doesn’t Beat Him Clean, It Will Be Taking 2 Steps Back, Not 1 Forward. This Possibility Scares Me As A Wrestling Fan Who Can See The Light At The End Of The Tunnel. The PG Era May Be In The Process Of Winding Down. John Cena Doesn’t Have To Remain Stale While Being Booked In Most Main Events. New, Young Talent Is On Its Way & Blossoming. That Good Feeling Loses Some Of Its Steam If Bryan Doesn’t Win Clean. I Mean That. And What If Triple H Calls The Match Down The Middle? Say He Keeps Things Clean And Officiates A Fair Match And Plays No Part In The Outcome Other Than Making The Count & Raising The Winners Hand? THEN WHAT IS THE POINT? Is This An Ego Move By Hunter? If So This Is One Of His Most Selfish Moves Yet, & The Most Selfish Since Becoming An Executive. Daniel Bryan Has Worked For Years To Get To This Match. It Is The Biggest Of His Life. It Will Determine The Road His Career Will Take. John Cena Is A Workhorse. He Has Come Under Personal Attack Over This Match. He Is Your Champion. These Men Have Earned The Spotlight. And Here Comes Triple H To Soak Some Of It Up. Selfish. Even Though I Expect Randy Orton To Cash & Win On Whoever Prevails In The Main Event Of SummerSlam, This Referee Hunter Thing Really Makes Me Sick. In A Match That Has Hype Bursting From Its Seams, Two Men Who Deserve The Attention, & A Crowd That Has Earned A Clean Victory Either Way, Triple H Has Just Made It Seem Less Special. The X Factor To This Match Was Supposed To Be Randy Orton. Will He Show Up? Will He Help Determine The Winner? Will He Cash In Regardless Of Who Scores The Victory? That Was The Excitement, The ‘Something Else’, The Suspense. Not ‘What Will Triple H Do?’ It’s 2013 Hunter, Move On. You’re Not The Star Of This Show. The WWE Has Made Some Major Improvements Over The Past Year, And Change Takes Time. I Fear That The Best Thing They Have Put Together In Years May Be Chipping Away Now Because They Just Had To Have Triple H Involved. It’s Distracting, It’s Selfish, It’s The Wrong Decision. When I Think Of The Anticipation For SummerSlam It Should Be About 3 Names. Cena. Bryan. Orton. But Now, Because He Just Had To, You Can Add Helmsley. -I’m Jason Moltov
