WWII Memorial model to be on display at IVH Sunday - By Tammy R. Lawson, Central Iowan In all its glory, this small-but-mighty monument offers veterans a chance to view a piece of their history. Pillars of Honor Inc., from Des Plaines, Ill., will display the original design model of the WW II Memorial 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Iowa Veterans Home, 1301 Summit St. in Marshalltown. The organization transports the original-scale artifact, which is located in Washington D.C., to veterans throughout the country in order to recognize and honor the personal sacrifices they have made. The public is invited to attend and there is no charge. This event is sponsored by the Iowa Veterans Home. More information about the traveling memorial can be found at the link below.
