Walk for #Wilderness Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Wilderness Act 1964 - 2014 Yours to Enjoy – Yours to Protect Saturday, September 6th Leadville National Fish Hatchery 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM Registration begins at 9:00 AM Fun and educational family activities honoring 50 years of enjoyment and stewardship of America’s Wilderness SCHEDULED EVENTS • Family hikes led by experienced hikers, or on your own • Scavenger hunt for wilderness facts – GARNA and VOC • Cross-cut saw demo: People will be able to cut a ‘cookie’ off a log with a cross-cut saw, then have it branded with the 50th Anniversary Wilderness Act Logo • Wildlife display with ‘touchables’ (pelts, scat samples, antlers, etc.) and molds of wildlife tracks • Lake County Search and Rescue • Dutch oven cooking demonstration • Backcountry cooking demonstration (pizza on a backpacking stove) • Tenkara fly fishing demonstration • Leave No Trace education • Invasive plant display • Drawing/coloring activity for kids ****BRING YOUR OWN LUNCH**** 1.usa.gov/1BVhpg7
