Wall-E is such an awesome movie. What many people dont realize is that its not really about the future. Its what is happening now on earth in many countries. I love the part when he finds the little box and opens it and sees the huge diamond ring, and throws it away. And keeps the neat little box. Especially after watching blood diamond, but now also because I see much better use for money, I will never buy any such jewelry for myself or anyone else. I continue to believe that a wedding band is very significant. And this can be made out of very high quality durable material at a very low price. But what really is the meaning, the significance, the value of a diamond, especially a large one? And the fancy gold and platinum that surrounds it? With the $10,000 I spent on a wedding ring, a town of 10,000 people could have had safe drinking water for 100 years, instead of suffering and dying every day of every one of those years.
