Want a laugh at my expense?? Well... One fine Nelson day, 2 friends set off for coffee in their favourite beach haunt, under the pretence of cleaning a fridge in a rental caravan. On their way home, the 2 friends decide to do a little treasure hunt at the local recycling centre. Oh what a treasure hunt it was, and the 2 friends were quite satisfied with their funds, and even more happy that they could fit their new treasures in the car. Who needs a station wagon when you have a convertible one said, and the other laughed and agreed as they took the top off the car and stashed their find in the back, merrily setting off down the road laughing about how they now looked like the little car on Antique Roadshow, with the load out the back seat. The weather looked a little poorly over their hometown as they came over the hill, about halfway home, but they shrugged, and hoped it might pass over before they got there. Even when it stated raining, it was not really a bother, as they discovered that at about 80k, the rain either hit the windscreen, or passed over them. Slowing down for roadworks was cause to laugh at themselves, as it was just then, the rain got a little heavier. Hurry up they shrieked, finding it all rather hilarious. They barely got up to speed, and it was time to do the lower speeds as they got closer to town. And then.... The hailstorm hit! Hands over mouths semi-screaming in fits of laughter, they whizzed around the back of town, were stared at saluted at, giggling at the idea that they too had an umbrella to hold over them. Wet to the skin, and its all starting to to be not so funny now, we finally reach my friends home, whip the offending long item out of the back and finally get the lid back on the car. Tootling thru Richmond back to my place, the rain goes away, and the sun comes out. I hope the big guy upstairs enjoyed his little joke!!
