Want to wish you all a very safe, healthy and Happy New Year !!! I know some people make resolutions. Instead of resolutions how about making goals ? Resolutions seems to fade or completely go away within 2-4 weeks. Goals are much more obtainable. I was talking with someone the other day and she said she was afraid of starting on her health journey because it was just too much at one time and she wasnt exactly sure where to begin and she knew she would give up due to these reasons. I asked her why did she need to change so much at one time? That can lead to failure. Dont diet. Dont go to the gym every day. I told her to take one day at a time, one meal at a time, one workout at a time. Start small. If you drink a lot of soda, start cutting back to maybe one a day. If you like a lot of sugar in your coffee, cut back a little at a time. Drink more water. Bring a water bottle with you everywhere. You will be more prone to drink it as it is there. Like fast food? Order a salad instead of fries or in my case instead of the burger ;-) Wanting to start working out? Go slow. Dont expect to be able to lift heavy weights or run full steam on the treadmill. If you join a gym and are not familiar with equipment ask for help. The staff and/or trainers are there to help you on your journey and help you get there safely. Think about hiring a personal trainer. We are here to help you and can design an exercise program that is best suited for you and your needs. So please dont make a resolution. Make a goal or goals. They could be daily goals. Weekly goals. Monthly goals. Above all else BELIEVE IN YOURSELF AND DO NOT GIVE UP !! I promise you, you are worth it !!!
