Wanted to congratulate the Mechanicsville Rebels Juniors team on a fantastic season! Tough loss on Saturday, but each and everyone of those young men should feel nothing but pride in themselves and their teammates! With special kudos going to the parents for all their encouragement and support! Good job Rebel player and parents! The cheerleaders also did a great job all season overcoming many obstacles, and pulling it together to support the team in the end! As with the players, many cheerleaders are moving on as well. I have watched most of these girls cheer since they were 7 years old. Each holds a special place in my heart! Madeleine always bright eyed and bushy tailed (even at 8:30 on a cold, frosty, foggy, football morning), Sarah with her happiness thats truly infectious, and my sweet Katie - I love those kids! Hailey Nurmi - I am so proud of you for everything that you have endured and overcome this season ... between the drama, the injuries, the multiple practices, and cheering for both Rebels and SJMS - you handled it with the poise and grace of a rockstar baby! You are an amazing young lady with a bright future ahead of you! SO...Moving on from football and onto SJ boys basketball and wrestling... lets go SJ~ :)
