Wanted to say a Special Thank You to the folks in Summerlake who donated the non-perishable food to our South Madison Food Pantry. Extra goods are especially needed around the holidays. Not all Green Township residents will enjoy turkey and the fixins but 75 will, thanks to you good people. With private donations and some township funds, we were able to purchase 75 turkeys this year, up from 50 in past years. When I organized and counted your items today I came up with this: 60 boxes of Stovetop stuffing, 39 Jiffy cornbreads,12 Jif peanut butters with 12 grape jellies, 21 cake mixes and icings, 48 boxes Kraft macaroni and cheeses, 51 boxes instant potatoes, 290 canned good items and 3 pet treats. Cannot fail to mention Summerlake residents Darin and Dian helped me load the items yesterday in the pouring down rain. Now that is commitment to a project! You folks rock!
