Warning: This is a long one folks. Any male (or female for that matter,) that thinks they wont benefit directly from having all women having access to birth control should not be making decisions for the rest of us. Everyone benefits from this. Well, technically only people who live in a society. The fact of the matter is that poverty breeds crime. When women and men who are barely scraping by, (we have a lot of those with our wonderful minimum wage today,) have to pay for another living thing, they suddenly cannot afford to live. Once you are already working two 40 hour jobs to pay for a child, you no longer have either a) time to raise a child, or b) a legal means to have enough money to raise a child. Simply put, when you create these conditions/constrictions in a society you are essentially carefully putting all of the ingredients for crime pie in an oven and hoping bad things dont come out. Now even if you hate Roe v. Wade because you think a life is being lost, and that is the worst thing in the world, you should look at all the facts. If you want to see the full effects of that landmark case, look 18 years after mothers now had an option to NOT be forced deeper into poverty because of an unfortunate circumstance. This University of Chicago paper does exactly that, and shows how incredibly beneficial giving women control of their bodies is to them, and to us as a society. Since no one in the history of Facebook has ever read a 42 page link, (Im surprised you got this far!) let me just highlight the intro. Since 1991, the United States has experienced the sharpest drop in murder rates since the end of Prohibition in 1933. Homicide rates have fallen more than 40 percent. Violent crime and property crime have each declined more than 30 percent. Homicide rates. Thats another life that is being lost, but an established life. One that could be someones child, or father, or mother. Now with all that out of the way, I want to remind you that this reasoning, although solid, is secondary. Secondary because reason number one will always be that women should have full control over their bodies because THEY ARE HUMANS and buildings and business enterprises are NOT HUMANS. Rant over.
