Warning!:!What follows is a rant and a movie review. The worst - TopicsExpress

Warning!:!What follows is a rant and a movie review. The worst part is my disgust was at least partially self inflicted. I knew Hollywood would employ artistic license but OMG..this movie makes in look like Peter Jackson followed Tolkien verbetum..yes its that far off. Like I said, I wasnt expecting a biblival narrative. I also wasnt expecting totally made up characters, a plot which is completely unbiblical (spoiler alerts), and sub plots based on the fallacies of this new plot. After reading Glenn Becks review and the Washington Post reviews I decided to break my own boycott rule and see for myself. I should have gone w my gut. The additions and changes from the bible are too many to list. Anyone with any bible school or Sunday school training will wonder where this story begins with the producers disclaimer we believe we have stayed true to the biblical story with artistic license. Now as far as stories and movies go, it had good acting, good plot, interesting twists and good visual effects. The same way the Hobbit movies are good but dont have much to do with the book. Now I realize Im one of those born-agains who actually believe in the inerrancy of the bible, so my Christian worldview may be a little sensitive. But, it seems to me all this movie has in common with the Genesis story is character names, an ark, and a flood. Good entertainment, but as about biblical as the movie JFK is history. In all fairness I must also add my patieence on trying to improve upon Gods story ran out before the end. Yes, this is the 2nd time in 24 yrs ive walked out on a movie... There you have it. Watch if you like, but I weep for those who think this is the Genesis story....
