Was invited to a private meeting with an interesting entrepreneur at his beautiful landed house yesterday. He wanted to find out how I build my businesses and our capital management behavior (turn out that Im building more equity value in my business). After 2 hr of good sharing, he sent me out to the gate and asked where do I stay and my reply shocked him, Me: Southern central Friend: Oh prime area! Me: Im still living in public housing. Friend: Why so humble?! Me: Thats one of the key reason how I built a multi-millions dollar business in less than 5 years; Effective Capital Allocation. P/S: Other reasons being, I want my children childhood growing up initially to mix with down to earth neighbors, go to a public school and experience what an average Singaporean in this country will experience with less luxury influence. I finally understood why Warren Buffett stayed in the same house in an average neighborhood for the past 50 years. :)
