Watch and Act Issued For: Black Range Fire Origin: BLACK RANGE Incident Name: BUNJILS CAVE RD Issued: 17/01/14 4:55 PM This is a DOWNGRADED Watch and Act message issue by Country Fire Authority for Black Range. Firefighters are working to stop the spread of the slow moving bushfire in the BLACK RANGE area approximately 7 kms south of Stawell. A wind change has caused the smoke to change direction towards the Stawell area. The Black Range fire is not yet under control. Travel to; - Relief Centre at the Ararat Performing Arts Centre, Cnr Vincent and High Street, Ararat. - The home of family or friends that is away from the warning area, but register at the relief centre prior to leaving. The next update is expected by 17/01/14 11:00 AM or as the situation changes. Safety information: Remember to take your prescriptions and medication, photo ID, bottles of water, your mobile phone and charger and consider what you will do with your pets. When driving, slow down and turn on your headlights; smoke will make it difficult to see. If you have time, check your neighbours to see if they are monitoring conditions.
