Watch out for the God the Mother missionaries out there. My daughter says shes been accosted by these people three times on her college campus this semester (in Colorado Springs), and Saturday I was approached by a trio of them at the mall. Id never heard of them before now, but it didnt take long to hear that their distinctive teaching is that the us of Let us create man in our image (plus also the New Jerusalem and the Bride of Christ) is actually God the Mother. Its basically a Korean heresy that has come here. The founder, a Korean who claimed to be the second coming of Jesus, predicted the end of the world in 1967, 1988, and 2012. These guys look legit when you see them. Theyre clean-cut and polite and come to you with a Bible tucked under their arms. But theyre sure to take you to just a couple of key Scriptures and start talking about ACCURATELY interpreting the Bible, namely about their Mother God. Dont be taken in, even for a moment. Read this article, know your Bible, and pray.
