Watched Dallas Buyers Club tonight. This isnt a gripping drama, but overall a very good movie. It matches the protagonist, played very well by a massively physically transformed Matthew McConaughey, against two foes. The disease he has and the FDA trying to keep his unapproved treatments away from him. He defies the odds and the powers that be, while partnering with someone he initially is repulsed by, that ends up being one of two friends he has left. That friend is portrayed by Jared Leto, who gives a PHENOMINAL performance. One of the best Ive seen in a long time. While full of self endulgence through the movie, the original only looking out for #1 and scamming money turns himself into an advocate and healer for those affected by disease and the bureaucracy of big corporations and the government agency that supposedly helps protect us. This is not a tearjerker, but is a well made, truelife story that keeps you engaged the whole time. Great acting and again, fantastic job by Leto. Dont bring the kids, but see it as soon as you can.
