Watched Escape Plan. Putting iconic action stars Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger in a action thriller sounds like a obvious thing to do right? Because it is! They were both great in this and played to their strengths really well. Although a story about a man who breaks out of prison for a living seems like an unremarkable concept, this movie does a good job creating an entertaining action thriller. Part of the charm of the film is that I actually was invested in how the characters were going to get out of this inescapable prison, and it was a bit thrilling to watch how they were going to do it. Unfortunately by the last act of the movie, some lucky cliche coincidences happens just for the sake of where the plot is suppose to go. Escape Plan is still overall a fun movie that has some 80s action movie sensibilities. Oh and I should point out that Jim Caviezel successfully plays a very hateable villain, and was a perfect antagonist for Stallone and Schwarzenegger.
