Watched Olympus Has Fallen last night and I had not watched it - TopicsExpress

Watched Olympus Has Fallen last night and I had not watched it since seeing it in theaters. Im still convinced this is the better movie of the 2 between White House Down and OHF. WHD is ridiculous! If a guy is not mature enough to be a good policeman, how could he ever be considered for a more serious job as the bodyguard to a president? How can a guy who shirtless all through a movie without a bullet-proof vest to prevent sniper bullets to go at him? How many villains do you need in one movie? Too many twists and turns in WHD. If you were to swear in a replacement president because the president is assumed dead, wouldnt you first make sure his replacement is somewhere safe? In WHD, I think they swear in 2 or 3 replacements and they all get killed. At least the Speaker of the House in OHF is somewhere safe, can assume the functions. In WHD from what I understood the so-called terrorists are all frustrated angry former marines or militarymen who lost somebody because of a war the president sent them to fight. At least this is the reason your traitor has for turning against the president and his country and they should have kept it at one villain with hired men to do his dirty work. The President should never be an action hero swinging around with an Uzi in his hands like in WHD. The extent of heroism the President should display is like in Independence Day. I doubt the secret services would allow the president to slip through their hands and start firing alongside a totally irresponsible former policeman. Both movies do have total inaccuracies though but OHF was made with more research, more seriousness. One very silly teenager on Twitter said of WHD that it is more intense. How more intense? Are Channing Tatums pecs more intense? If she wanted to see pecs, she could have checked out Gerard Butlers in the boxing scene and when he gets out of bed. He had nothing to envy Channing for. I wont say Channing is not a good actor as I think alongside JamesWoods, hes the only one doing his job in that movie and he believable but nobody would believe that a guy whos in his very early 30ies and just became a first time father can be a dad to a 15-year old. Even the villains in OHF are scarier. I wouldnt want to piss off Rick Yune though Im sure hes a nice guy when out of character but I would hardly be scared of James Woods, the head of his mercenary team or even Richard Jenkins. Maggie Gyllenhall and Rachelle Lefebvre are so badly used in that movie its not funny while even Ashley Judd whos not long on the screen is more believable as a First Lady and Angela Bassett is one tough as nail Mama! Besides Channing and James Woods there is only one other actor deserving some praise: the one giving the tour guide to the White House who actually does the same thing Mike Banning does with a statue to one of the terrorists, the one always threatening him.
