Watched PK today. Film is good, it highlights the drawback of superstition and at the same time exploitation by religious heads (pls note not various religious heads). Now the real problem starts because the film is just based on negative points of a particular religion and just gives passing references to other few. Among religious heads of all religions some are good and some are bad. Similarly followers of different religions following same religion some are good and some are bad. And if good/bad exist in every religion then why to talk about just one, instead as a mature citizens having mature thinking must sit together and all of us must take it as a societal evil. Why to try to demean only a particular religion? Actually good/bad we decide from our own lenses, the entire world is just relative. There is nothing absolute & idealism is just a product of imagination and far away from truth and pragmatism. Probably by inculcating a couple character in love from India & Pak Raj Kumar Hirani and Amir Khan tried to subdue the hard feeling among people of India towards Pakistan. Although I appreciate the effort but sympathy/empathy are a product of actions & behavior. Being a follower of a religion I feel Amir avoided it to take it to his own religion, I appreciate it as an appropriate gesture (considering that he tried to hold on to his beliefs) but then so other people from other religions too have their rights. And their sentiments too must be respected. Least to say that I am not a sycophant of my religion & I am liberal enough to embrace every religion without conditions; still society members while inhabiting in the same society need to learn to be equally adaptive to others views/opinion. Must say that PK could have been much better; had better thinking and understanding about the topic would have been developed with better thoughts of clarity.
