Watching the Scream Factory blu ray of Lake Placid. The picture and sound are excellent. Im very much looking forward to checking out all the extras! Ive always had a soft spot for this movie as it was the 1st movie I saw in the theater alone with a friend and no parental supervision (it was a choice of Lake Placid or the miserably abysmal pile of shit known as The Deep Blue Sea) its also about a giant crocodile which is one of my favorite things in the world. Im very pleased to see how well its held up over the years. The practical creature fx are fantastic and they expertly keep it the shadows so to speak. The cgi is well implemented, and only used when necessary as is the smattering of gore. Its an all around top notch creature movie and the scripts sly sense of humor makes for an extremely entertaining movie.
