Watching the news and its almost fetish like way of focusing in on the horrific pictures of the casualties in Gaza, and of course the children, always the children… Israel has wished for peace with the Arabs in Gaza and the rest of Israel while too many of the Arabs especially Hamas has wished for no PIECE of Israel period! But there is another disturbing thought that is becoming apparent to me during this overindulgence of the news media with the disproportionate casualty count … it is almost as if they are addicted to the pictures of the suffering and the deaths of the “innocent” and it is a bonus when it is a child … like my daughter said to me… Daddy, I don’t get why the Arabs just don’t become friends with us and live happily with us – than there will be no fighting and they will get what they want! It takes a little girl to state the obvious. The quality of life for many of the Arabs in Gaza is humiliating and painful, however until a day arrives when they will not consider victory baiting the Israelis into killing some of their children to be paraded around the world through news media or send them strapped with backpacks and vests set to explode and take out innocent civilians in Jerusalem pizza shops - the checkpoints will stay in place as will the blockade as will the current conditions – and just maybe when the media stops acting like junkies needing a fix of dead Arab children at the hands of Israeli “aggression” in self defense – just maybe then the message will set in! May we know peace in our time soon please God!
