Watching the scenes of the riot police and SWAT teams on Ferguson Mo. I have several thoughts: 1) I would put even money on the idea that all that SWAT gear was bought with the millions given to local police after 911...in order to fight terrorism. 2) If police departments keep that stuff around long enough, eventually they will feel compelled to use it on someone. Its not surprising theyd use it on regular citizens. 3) 2nd Amendment defenders see that kind of SWAT display and it does nothing but embolden the open carry nuts. All this, and I havent even mentioned the racial element of all of this. This is a mess.
