Watching world-class and international singing competitions on TV - TopicsExpress

Watching world-class and international singing competitions on TV like The Voice, XFactor, America’s Got Talent and American Idol as well as its Philippine counterpart though ABS-CBN TV Network made me wish to have a good voice (we usually wish for something we don’t have or not blessed with- LoL! :D). I asked God why He didn’t give me a great voice which I promised to join in all the singing competitions from the amateur singing contest like in some remote barangays up to the nationwide singing search here and abroad. One afternoon, I was talking to a cab driver while I was on my way to some of my appointments, I shared to him my desire to have that golden voice so I will be discovered. Suddenly his replied made me stunned that it is not easy for any actor to make his audience cry or laugh from the big screen and he reassured me of my great talent that I already embodied. It made me reflect for awhile and he was absolutely right, indeed! Looking back on the year 2011 and 2012, I started my first independent film career through Direk Keit Nicko L. Pastorite and Sir Rudy U. Aviles in BISIKLETA (youtube/watch?v=0O-ebq7KqaI) followed by SIAK (youtube/watch?v=MPaEMfGaqt4). Direk Shine Legaspi trusted me with her project as my first lead in UGMA (youtube/watch?v=PU0bouyy-R0) then the challenging matured man’s role of Direk Natileigh Siojo Sitoys MALIPAYONG FUNERARIA. From melodramatic and thriller films twist with an action-adventure of TV5 Cebu series ANTIGO (youtube/watch?v=MwEaft_LFWo) directed by Gabriel Keith Wong and Vanessa Tee, dramedy (drama and comedy genre) come on its way with Visionary Elite Productions BOYS DO FALL IN LOVE (youtube/watch?v=wnPSCDh1tgg) directed by Archie Damaolao Abong and Mark Andre Borromeo Yapching. I was totally grateful that my utmost wish to work with Direk Chloe Veloso and Sinulog 2013 Best Actor Badidi Labra as my co-actor and scriptwriter after watching Ang Gugmang Ti-unay ni Daniella finally materialized out of the blue. Act UP Productions Ina-Tay (youtube/watch?v=5Igjpxu8yVE) was born as my first title role being the leading film actor. It was my first time to attend the BINISAYA FILM FESTIVAL last year 2013 when it was first shown in USC CAFA Theatre. Early this year 2014, I was surprised that it was featured in CINEMA REHIYON: Filming the Frontiers in SM City- Cagayan de Oro City in cooperation with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) and it even won an Audience Choice Award in the Cinema Rehiyon section of CineSB Film Festival, De La Salle University- College of Saint Benilde in Manila. To top it all, it’s a dream for all independent filmmakers & actors here in the Philippines like me and even from the mainstream cinema industry to join the #CINEMALAYA Philippine Independent Film Festival . It was a double celebration for me when I had my tour to Walt Disney World Florida last April when I received the great news that INA-TAY made it to Cinemalaya 2014 - Year 10 as Cebu’s official entry in the short feature category. It feels like a GRAND WINNER of The Voice or XFactor but in another art form which is the motion picture. It feels like a CHAMPION and it’s the highest achievement I ever received. Thank you thank you thank you Lord God and Mama Mary for the answered prayers and for making my childhood dream to be an actor to finally come true!!! youtube/watch?v=5Igjpxu8yVE
