Waving goodbye to Winamp, paying respects to Nullsoft. This was a shock to see this morning on CNET. One of the most downloaded and customizable media players on the market for the last 16 years will no longer be supported after Dec. 20, 2013. Nullsoft was bought out by AOL back in early 2000 and now are kicking Mike the Llamas ass. WinAmp ,short for Windows Amplifier, I am sure will still see some 3rd party support although from my understanding WinAmp is not part of an open source licensing so not sure how that all works out. I dont use WinAmp myself, I use AIMP3 which is compatible with all the same plugins and extensions as WinAmp but think I will have to just go and DL the last version to hit the net just out of respect for WinAmp, who by the way helped bring us the audio file format so much of us use today....
