Wayne Hoereth Yesterday was Marine Corps birthday, today is Veterans day. I suppose its appropriate that I just got word that the man I continue to think of as my father-in-law has passed away this morning. Wayne Hoereth was a career Marine, retiring as a Major. He was City Engineer of Laconia, New Hampshire, City Manager of Needles, California as well as Pismo Beach, California. Im not just tossing a superlative to say that Wayne was a great man. He was that and so much more. Ive admired him from the day I first met him. Hes given me some good advice and Ill miss his advice as well as his humor. Ill be keeping Waynes family in my thoughts today and know hell be sadly missed but remembered with a smile. Semper Fi, Major.
