We all hate John Cena. We hate how he keeps burying superstars. We hate how he keeps kicking out at 2. Some of us hate the fact that he never gives up being the good guy. However, if we were to put ourselves in the shoes of Vince Mcmahon, well find out that we wouldnt be left with much of a choice. John Cena is the FACE of the PG ERA which is slowly fading away now. During that PG period, he established himself as the most popular pro wrestler and thus today he has an enormous fan base which consists mainly of children, their dads and moms, US soldiers and war veterans and a whole lot of Indians with ridiculous grammar and spellings. In the eyes of these fans, he is the superman who defeats all odds, conquers all obstacles and never gives up. He preaches the motto of hustle, loyalty and respect which is very well received by fans especially those who are physically and mentally challenged. We all skip certain segments of the show right? As much as we hate Cena, its surprising to note that most of us always stick around to watch his segments whether we like it or not. The fact of the matter is that John Cena sells outs arenas across the globe. The WWE makes more profit out of his merchandise sales than any other superstar. Moreover, the man is basically an endorsement magnet attracting every kind of business from breakfast cereal to fitness magazines. On top of that, all his charity work including the time he spends with the Make a Wish Foundation and the Be A Star program is instrumental to the WWE for building its reputation as a family friendly brand of entertainment that gives back to the community. As it stands, I feel that WWE officials are suffering a dilemna. Im sure they want to push the younger superstars that they put up against John Cena. Sandow, Cesaro and Wyatt, all three of them could and should have had victories against Cena in recent bouts. However, they didnt. Cena has turned into a franchise himself and a single loss for him in the ring will be detrimental to his franchise both on a financial and social level. In conclusion. Is the Cena situation a problem? Yes it is. Is there any easy solution to this problem? No there isnt. We just have to wait till the guy runs out of steam which, judging by his superhuman physique, will quite possibly not be anytime in the near future.
