We all know that this happens, but I found it funny when I found out that there was an experiment done on this lol. In Aschs conformity test he found out that there were some people who caved under peer pressure because they figured if everyone else had a different answer than they did, then they must be wrong. They must have all seen something they didnt. Then there are others who know that they are right but dont want to stand against the majority for fear of the social reprimands. In this case its that people give you a funny stare. Living life as a Christian constantly puts you in this position, where often times youre going against the current. The world may say one thing, but if the Scriptures clearly say another, then lets follow Scripture. Lets not give up what we understand to be true to please everyone else. Romans 12:2 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 3:4a 4 Not at all! Let God be true, and every human being a liar. Acts 5:29 29 Peter and the other apostles replied: “We must obey God rather than human beings! Proverbs 23:23 23 Buy the truth and do not sell it— wisdom, instruction and insight as well. *I should put in a disclaimer right here though* 1 Peter 3:15 15 But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, Colossians 4:6 6 Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone. Lastly, the last part of the video shows us the importance of fellowship. Its always easier when you have someone else to help you along in this Christian walk. I know some of us like to think that were independent and that we dont need other people to move forward in our walk with God but I dont think thats the pattern that the Bible gave us: Hebrews 10:24-25 24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 9 Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: 10 If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. 11 Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? 12 Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
