We all love leaving the salon with a great blow dry. Our hair is bouncier; the sun is brighter, and all around we just feel amazing. But at some point you go home and in a day or two you will have to wash your hair, washing that beautiful salon quality bounce down the drain. It’s no secret that recreating that same salon styled blow dry at home is no easy task. Stylists do dozens of blow dries a day and hundreds a month; they truly are masters of the blow drier. However, don’t give up, with a bit of practice and the right arsenal of tools and styling products; you too can be a master of the best at home blow dry. The most important element of a great at home blow dry is TIME! Never be in a rush to blow dry your hair. Until you have your blow dry styling skills down pact, always give yourself more than enough time to really execute your at home blow dry. Make sure your hair is completely dry before heading out. If you are going to blow dry your hair, do it right. When the hair is still damp in places, it will undo the style you have worked hard on. STEP 1: Towel Dry Your Hair. Towel dry your hair as much as possible before blow drying; do not attempt to blow dry hair that is still dripping wet. STEP 2: Apply Any Styling Aid or Product to the damp hair. It is important to use some product to help style your blow dry. Products are great for adding volume or sealing in your style, along with speeding up the blow dry process. For silky straight hair one can use unite lazer straight which helps to lay the cuticle flat in turn speeding up drying time. Bouncy volume can be achieved with the Angel livening mousse . IMPORTANT NOTE- It is important to note that the best way to blow dry your hair is from front to back. If you blow dry your hair from back to front, by the time you blow dry the front portion of your hair the hair is too dry to be properly styled. Just think of having your best face forward, and start your blow dry in the front. STEP 3: Blow Dry Your Roots Using a small brush with vents scoop the hair up and blow dry your roots all around your crown. This will help to create great lift and volume. STEP 4: Blow Dry The Front Sections of Hair For that salon finish use the blow dryer attachment narrow nozzle; it concentrates and distributes an even air flow. Point the blow dryer downward, moving the dryer along the length of hair while brushing. Vents in a brush speeds up drying time as well as boars bristles. A paddle brush is great for a straight finish, and a round brush can give your ends a great curl. STEP 5: *Extra Volume* Blow Dry the Front Crown Pieces of Hair Into A Round Brush Taking the front top crown portion of your hair and roll it into a round brush, directly blowing hot air on to the brush for a few moments then releasing. STEP 6: Tilt Head to Side and Blow Dry Back Blow drying the back of your hair is the hardest part of all. Tilt your head to the side while brushing and directing the blow dryer down toward the brush. Or one could flip their hair upside down to blow dry; this also helps to increase volume. STEP 7: Seal The Style Seal your style with a cold blast of air. Finish the style with a little hair serum like Angel anti-frizz silkening cream to calm frizz and/or Angel hair spray. There are a lot of steps that go into executing the best at home blow dry, but for a salon quality blow dry at home you can’t cut any corners. Remember that damp hair will take the styling of the blow dryer better than dryer hair, so work on front face framing pieces first moving towards the back! Happy Blow Drying!
