We always hear about how Minnesotans dont get enough vitamin D - TopicsExpress

We always hear about how Minnesotans dont get enough vitamin D during the winter because we dont get enough sun exposure due to our multitude of POLAR VORTEXES. BUT DID YOU KNOW that due to the angle of the sun in the months November through February, anywhere north of 37 degrees latitude (essentially a line from San Francisco, CA to Richmond, Virginia) the UVB sun rays (the ones that synthesize Vit D in our skin) are decreased by 80-100% compared to the summer months. Which means, even if we were outside enough, we wouldnt be getting vitamin D. So standing outside in your swimsuit in January wont be doing you any favors... ;) Lucky for us, March is here! Soak it up!
