We are all free to do as we please, but there are certain things we dont do because of dignity and respect for humanity. And there are other things we dont do because they are illegal, immoral or just not part of societal norms. The publication of the photos of the dead body of one of the victims of the recent incident by Freedom News Paper left me sick to my stomach! I was not feeling good today, but now I feel worst! Even animals protect their dead. Humans beings dont need judgement or reason to do so, because its innate in us. How irresponsible can a News Paper be? We keep saying that Jammeh is a dictator and does what ever he wants, but what about our media? First it was calling the names of those they believe to have been part of a coup even before it was over, and now publishing the picture of the dead body of one of the victims. What happened to simple human decency? What happened to respect for the family of the victim? Where are we heading? Freedom News Paper keeps saying they owe no one any obligation, which is fine. But they owe themselves the obligation to do the right thing as humans! There are certain things we should refuse to accept as humans, if we what to remain so! Just utter disbelief!
